Gary Ticehurst, founder and principal of Film Helicopters Australia (FHA) has been flying choppers since 1973 and has more than 14,000 hours helicopter experience. He is highly experienced in low level film and television helicopter operations, with an impressive history of aerial services provided to feature films, television productions, TV commercials and numerous sporting events. He commenced flying in the Australian Army in 1973. In December 1980, Gary formed his own company to pursue television and film production support to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. This is a contract which he has held since 1980. Over the past 27 years, Gary has continued to work closely with the Australian film production industry.
